If someone hires you, what does an inspection include?

We explain the step-by-step process of an inspection. No stone is left unturned. For an example, the customer knows that an air sample is taken of the outside air for a baseline for the analytical lab to use in comparison of the air samples from the inside of the living or working environment. A moisture test is performed on all walls; infrared readings taken looking for “hotspots” and moisture intrusion. Swab samples are taken of visible mold growth also. These samples are sent to EMSL in Baton Rouge, Louisiana over night under a chain of custody. Once the certified lab has analyzed the samples and the results are sent back to our office, they are reviewed by one of our officers. The customer receives a copy of the certified lab results, and a written protocol on process required to correct the existing problems. We always suggest a post inspection be preformed to give you, the customer, peace of mind that the remediator did his job correctly. If the lab analysis’s shows contamination still present we have the remeditators repeat the cleaning process FREE for you.

What type of training do you have to perform mold inspections?

This Air Quality Mold Inspection business is a family owned business. The inspectors have certifications in this industry, and are past instructors through Cal State University for continuing education and distant learning classes. They are also authorized instructors through The Louisiana State Mold Remediation Licensing board. Certifications: CEE Certified Environmental Educators -(Two hold a Master Degree, the other holds a Ph.D) CMI Certified Mold Inspectors CMA Certified Mold Assessors Indoor Air Quality Specialist II CRC Instructors Instructors for The Unfair Trade Act State of Louisiana

How did we get started?

Our team all began in the oil field industry, then moving into refineries, governmental facilities, US Army and Air Force facilities. As our education expanded, our attention became centered with the health effects in the air quality industry. Air quality for small children, senior adults and immune compromised individuals has a large impact on their health.

Where have you performed mold inspections in the past?

Residential, governmental facilities, commercial facilities, For example CB&I, WR Grace, Hospice facilities, Police stations, crime labs, schools, real estate agents, hurricane victims, and homeowners with leaky pipes, etc. Look at our Testimonials under ” About Us” at what some of our customers have written.

Do you do large commercial inspections?

Yes, We recently completed a series of inspections in a hospice facility where we found a toxic black mold that was extremely harmful. The patients and employees were removed from the facility. The large facility took several months of remediation, inspections and over seeing the mold remediation process due to continued water leaks coming from the roof and fake stucco on the outer walls. Once remediation was completed we cleaned all the HVAC ducts in the building to ensure the air quality in this facility was clean and sterilized.

What should I look for hiring a Mold Inspector?

Look for someone with extensive education in the Air & Water Quality/Mold Industry. Ask for someone the Licensed Mold Remediator Contractors recommend. Ask the Inspector to explain the process to you and what equipment/instruments he will be using to perform the inspection on your facility.

What questions should I think about before hiring a Mold Inspector?

I would love the chance to answer those questions in its completeness, but here is the main question to consider. Is your mold inspection company properly trained, experienced, and most of all, educated with some degree of caring for others in the health industry. Many of our clients are seniors and need to know they are being cared for during a crisis such as toxic molds. Most molds are not toxic; they need to know that as well. The same goes for public and private commercial settings as many employees have immune compromised issues and their health is at risk working in a moldy building. When working with commercial settings the owners or managers need to feel comfortable that legal measures are taken during the inspection process.

How much does an inspection cost?

Our pricing is based on distance traveled to the inspection location and the square footage of the home or business. As past military backgrounds ourselves and the love of our country, we offer a 10% discount on our work performed for active and inactive fellow service members. Call us for pricing. We will be glad to give you a price for your inspection. Prices vary due to location, size of building, and other factors.
